Thanks Jane - you are very skilled at pulling apart the tropes about women and feminist and showing them for what they are. Coordinated strategies to keep women firmly in their place, kneeling at the feet of the patriarchy.
"feminism aims to liberate women from restrictions on their economic, physical, emotional and political safety. This only affects men who want to impose those restrictions" and that is the crux of it all right there! Great article.
It’s also a Gotcha for the many people who simply don’t have the brain capacity to understand the issues. The ‘well don’t wear dresses/heels/makeup’ crowd.
I think you are 100% right in everything you say here and in the recent articles holding men to account. However, you should also discuss the psychological context that cuts men off from their emotions, stunts their ability to relate to themselves and others, and thus makes them more likely to express themselves in violence in relationships or kill themselves: as e.g. Terry Real discusses in 'I don't want to talk about it', boys and the men they become are 'halved' by both their parents so that they can cope with and thrive in patriarchy.

Thanks Michelle

Yet again en pointe. Thank you.
The trope of the angry feminist is politically useful. It allows them to dismiss everything we say without needing to engage with it for a second.

Great article. When certain men are conditioned to believe they deserve unequivocal adoration, they experience anything less than that as hatred.
It’s interesting that there is essentially no talk about the fact that we live in a culture which demonstrably hates women.
I am still laughing about the guillotine reference.

I don’t think it’s her responsibility to make such a case.
